Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu....
Today we bid an UNfond farewell to Matt.
No matter how many times you've done it, it's always hard to say goodbye.
He is going to NTC (National Training Center) in the desert of Southern California, at Fort Irwin for a month!
Originally he was supposed to leave on Thursday, but it got moved to today (Wednesday) at the last minute. Thanks Army.
He needed to be on Wheeler by 12:00, but Natalie gets out of preschool at 12:00, so I took him around 11:30 to drop him off and then come back later.
Here we are on the 11:30 car ride to Wheeler:

So I dropped him off, came home for a few minutes, picked up Natalie, came home for a few minutes, then drove to school to get Matthew, Nathan, & McKenzie so that I could drive from school to Wheeler to see Daddy. None of the kids had said goodbye yet.
We made it to Wheeler around 1:00.

He had his weapon, so that means he couldn't leave.
Then they had a formation.

Soldiers, soldiers EVERYWHERE!
It's hard to pick your husband out of that crowd!
We started reading name tags.
Matthew said it was "the white guy named FERGUSON"
After all the briefings and crap, we waited around in the hot hot sun!
Look like happy kids, huh?

Then we found a piece of shade!!!!
Awwwww.....
Then the buses came :'o(
Alright Becky & Jeanelle... get yer tissues out....

And there ya go.
There they all are ready to load the buses as we are walking back to our car.
Natalie turned around and screamed,
"BYYYYE DAAAAAADDY!!!!"
over and over again.
She got LOTS of waves!
...sigh...
We did 15 months, so ONE month is gonna be a piece of cake.
Plus I have my mom coming to visit next week, and Jeanelle coming to visit at the end of the month. So we've got lots to look forward to. The time will fly by.
We were talking with Col. Baker and he said that they've requested planes back home for October 29th or 30th. But they don't always get what they ask for. But at least we know they're TRYING to get them home for Halloween. It'd be nice. But if not, he'd BETTER be home by Kenzie's birthday!! haha!
Alright, I'm done whining now. I think I'll go to bed!
