Beach Activity Day

Since there was no Mutual on Wednesday, the Youth of Wahiawa 1st & 3rd wards met at Haleiwa Ali'i Beach Park for a little "Olympics" on the beach.
We all met there bright at early at 8:00am!!

Here's our spot on the beach:

Matt and Bro. Frank Akhay 'talking story'. haha

The kids quickly found their way to the beach, except for they chose to walk on the wild side and play on the dangerous ROCKS instead of going in the sand!

Zoey went too...
Everybody loves the Zo
That little girl is Trinity, from Matthew's class at school.
He was very excited to see her there! They were inseparable!

I had to wait for this one:

This is a memorial coming out of a ketchup can from where a surfer probably crashed into the rocks and died:

Here's some of the youth playing a fun little ice breaker game, where they say,
"oom chi-chi oom chi" over and over, then one goes "talky talky, talky talky" and passes their "talky talky" to someone across from them, and the people NEXT to the "talky talky" people have to go "tonGA! tonGA!"... confused?

While the youth played games on the shore, I snuck down to the water where the fam was!!

Nathan also found a friend from his Kindergarten class, Cassandra.
Here they are jumping over the waves (with Natalie tagging along)

Then we decided to see if Zoey could swim

Here's a video of Zoey swimming:

She SURVIVED swimming in the ocean!

Then we went back to swimming.

Here is Natalie:
SHAKA!

Daddy taking a dip:

Kenzie on the boogie board:

Matt had Nathan on his back out in the ocean until he remembered that Nathan isn't supposed to go under water while he has the tubes in his ears. Over 6 months!!!

Here's Natalie wanting her turn on Daddy's back.

Waiting patiently.
haha! Look at her face!

Nata-ba-lee

Then the youth came down to the beach for a little relay race.

First, they ran down the beach....
(Brianna G. & Brianna W.)

....jumped into the ocean....
(Charne & one of the twin girls from 3rd ward)

....ran back up the beach soaking wet....
(the other twin from 3rd ward & Lexi)

...and put their foreheads on a pole in the sand and spun around 5 times!
(Joseph & Ben)

Even MATT jumped in on the action!

It was a really fun day! We stayed till about 1:00pm and all came home with...
A SUNBURN!!!
