As Ron Weasley would say, "Happy Christmas, Harry!". I can't seem to stop myself from saying "Happy Christmas" instead of "Merry Christmas" to everyone this year. Maybe it's because we're all so HAPPY to have Matt home for Christmas! This definitely was a HAPPY Christmas!
To start it all off, we had our yearly visit to Santa Clause at the mall
Here is our 2007 Santa Picture:
This was the REAL SANTA! Kenzie could tell because of his beard, and he didn't have a pillow in his suit. Because Santa can't be everywhere at one time, he has fake Santas at some of the malls, but we got THE REAL DEAL!
Natalie wasn't too fond of Santa so she said, "I want to stand by my sister." And that is why she is in between Kenzie's knees leaning AWAY from Santa.
Next we had McKenzie's 3'rd Grade Christmas Concert.
They sang a variety of songs, including:
Jingle Bells
Feliz Navidad
Mele Kalikimaka
I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas
We Wish You A Merry Christmas

Matt was also able to go to the concert, so it was fun. Kenzie wouldn't look us in the eye though. She kept pretending like she didn't see us, because if she made eye contact, she'd SMILE :o) And apparently smiling at your parents is an embarrassing thing to do in front of your friends, so she did her best to stay 'cool'.

Now let's fast forward to Christmas Eve! We had the Hites over because this was their first Christmas together, and also their first Christmas away from home. And we all know how hard that can be as newlyweds. So hopefully, with our family setting, it felt a little more like Christmas to them. Even though our natural senses told us that something was wrong because it was Christmas and still 78 degrees outside!
ANYhow.... we carried on the Ferguson tradition of Chili and Fried Bread for dinner, and then let the kids open a 'family' present, which was a Gingerbread House for them to make before bed. We also carried on the Shaw Family tradition of making Christmas Carol Roll which is basically a big ol' cinnamon roll. Gooood stuff! I messed up the drizzle with too much milk though! DANG!

By the time the Gingerbread House was finished, it was time for bed. So we let each kid open the traditional "one gift before bed", which is always a new pair of Christmas pajamas.
(I'm surprised they haven't caught on by now!)

After that, we put out a plate of cookies for Santa
(He requested Snickerdoodles this year... daddy asked.)
and then sent the kids off to bed to await the arrival of Santa!

OH, CHRISTMAS TREE... OH CHRISTMAS TREE...
We had told them that they were not allowed to go downstairs without us to see if Santa came. So we all went downstairs, and much to our surprise, SANTA CAME!!
ALL OF THOSE TIMES THAT WE TOLD THEM TO BE GOOD
OR ELSE SANTA WOULDN'T COME, AND HE CAME!!!
(Natalie's sour face was because she thought someone stole some of her candy)
REAL DOLLARS THAT YOU CAN SPEND!!
That was a special treat for us. Let's see if the kids keep them, or spend them.
I'd like to see the look on the guy's face when he gets a Santa Dollar in his change! LOL!
The rest of Christmas Morning was a complete blur. Wrapping paper flying and kids squealing. Our big gift this year was a Wii given to us by Grandma & Grandpa Fergy!

Between the Wii and Guitar Hero, I have made a 'butt groove' in our couch. More from the Wii than from Guitar Hero because REAL ROCK STARS STAND UP WHEN THEY PLAY!

I'm weird and like to send them around the New Year instead of Christmas
for two reasons:
#1. I think people have more time to read them after Christmas
#2. I'm always broke after Christmas and have to wait until the
first paycheck of the year to buy postage!!
